1. About

This website provides information about sewing machine repair services offered by Repair It Scotland across Dundee, Fife and Angus. By using this site you agree to these Terms.

2. Locations, Appointments & Services

• The Dundee location and Letham, Fife home workshop are by appointment only. Please call or message first to receive the booking-calendar link.
• Letham Crafts and Topstitch Kirkcaldy accept machines without an appointment during their normal shop opening hours.
• Machines are evaluated individually. Some high-end computerised models may be referred to manufacturer service if that is in your best interest.
• Vintage and heirloom machines can often be repaired. Restoration work may require additional time and parts sourcing.

3. Processing Fee, Estimates & Payment

• A £10 processing fee is payable when each machine is booked in. It covers booking-in, handling and the initial assessment.
• If a service or repair is carried out, the full £10 processing fee is credited toward the final cost.
• If no work is carried out, the £10 covers the assessment and processing.
• If additional work is required, you will receive an explanation and estimate before that work goes ahead.
• Prices vary according to the machine, work and parts required. Typical repairs are £40–£70; minor fixes may be lower and complex jobs may be higher.
• Cash is preferred. Other available payment methods will be explained when required.
• Parts ordered specifically for a repair may not be returnable unless faulty or your statutory rights require otherwise.

4. Warranty

Repairs generally include a 30-day workmanship warranty. Parts carry the supplier or manufacturer warranty. Misuse, accidental damage and unrelated faults are not covered.

5. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the price you paid for the repair service in question. Nothing in these Terms limits rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded.

6. Site Use

Content is provided for general information. We may update or remove content at any time. Links to third parties are provided for convenience and do not imply endorsement.

7. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Scotland and disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.
